Katy Wells serves as Advanced Nano's Corporate Secretary and applies her deep semiconductor industry and legal experience as an adviser on multiple ANS projects..
Katy is Vice President of Licensing for Motivo, Inc., a pioneer in tera-scale analytics and machine learning, and provides business development and other consulting services to the law firm clients of Cochran Client Development. She has over 20 years of legal and technology industry experience, including as Corporate Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD). In those roles she focused on international transactions and partnerships in Europe, China, and the UAE; board governance; global corporate compliance; manufacturing, technology, and environmental, health & safety; and executive and law department management. She was also instrumental in the creation of the semiconductor manufacturing firm GLOBALFOUNDRIES and served on its founding board.
Katy has helped drive global and industry collaboration in the semiconductor business, including as a member of AMD’s China leadership team; counsel to German and India leadership teams; Executive Sponsor of company customer loyalty, risk management, and women’s programs; and co-chair of a multi-year Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) worker health project.
Prior to working for Advanced Nano and AMD, Ms. Wells gained experience at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in Washington, D.C. (now WilmerHale) and Baker Botts in Austin, Texas and as a clerk to the Honorable José A. Cabranes in the U.S. District Court in New Haven, CT.
Katy serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Michael’s Catholic Academy, Austin, Texas, Yale Law School Reunion Gift Giving Committees, and the Yale Global Alumni Leadership Exchange (YaleGALE) Advisory Board.
Ms. Wells holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.S. from Lamar University. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
